Antonio's, A Fifth Time ♥ ♥ ♥

Long weekends are the perfect excuse to lunch at Antonio's.

It's almost a given. When there's one less work day in a week, the first thought that comes to mind is Tagaytay.

Yesterday, the whole of Manila shared the same thought.

The beautiful restaurant was swarming with people

Weather was great, perfect for strolling and playing in the gardens

None of us did.
We glued ourselves to the chairs and savored our hefty lunch from noon till 5.

IMG 7182

The bread was delicious. The salted butter 100x more.

Although meals at Antonio's already include salad, soup, main course and dessert, we ordered a few more appetizers to share.

Foie Gras Terrine

Prawn with Creamed Parmesan and Basil

Each meal comes with Antonio's Organic Mesclun Salad, Bleu d'Auvegne Crumble, Glazed
Walnuts, Dried Currant and Cranberries with Raspberry Vinaigrette, drizzled with Basil Oil.
To balance my food groups, I always order an extra side of Pan Seared Duck Liver glazed
in Honey Peppercorn on Golden Waffle. Yesterday's foie gras was unusually large
I had to fight back tears of joy.

Mushroom Cappuccino

Ton had the Baked Oxtail with Beef Tendon and Red Wine Reduction, Gremolata Mashed Potato.
This looked sooooo divine I wanted to dig in and I believe I looked so. But he didn't offer or he
pretended not to notice, and even had the nerve to say to my face how delicious it was.
I'll order this next time. Bad Ton.

Princess had the Roasted Duck Breast infused with Truffle, Goji Berries, Seared Foie Gras,
Braised Red Cabbage

IMG 7202

Felisse had Prawn and Scallop Thermidor

IMG 7210

Nikko had Herbed Roasted Rack of Lamb with Cardamom Beurre Blanc, Pomery Spatzle with Pancetta.
This is one of my Antonio's favorites, but I was feeling more beef-and-mushrooms yesterday.

IMG 7207

Frances had Homemade Ravioli with Minted Veal Cheeks and Goat Cheese, Creamed Tartufo.
She shared this with me. Good ravioli. Good Frances. I also shared my beef with her. Very Good Jin!

I had my other favorite, Grilled Beef Fillet, Gratinated with Cepes - Morel Black Truffle, Mashed Potato.
The ultimate feel good food. So creamy, so earthy, so ambrosial. Upon my recommendation, Achi
Donna ordered this, too. And upon Achi Donna's recommendation, Steve had the same.

Our pretty little niece Samara had Spaghetti Carbonara

The savories at Antonio's never fail to put me in delirium mode.

Unfortunately, it always stops there. I wish Tonyboy would inject a little bit of magic into his sweets (because it is really, really important to me).

Flourless Chocolate Cake

Felchin Maracaibo Chocolate Pavlova

IMG 7252

Not quite satisfied with the desserts, I injected magic into my coffee by adding
the soufflé's cardamom creme anglaise instead of milk. Not bad at all!

Spying on our neighbor's steaks

Antonio's gets prettier and prettier every time I visit.

IMG 7234

I love the spray of purple on black and white

The bathroom sports a refreshing new color, and supports the cause
"The family that eats together pees together" :P

The only subject that looked a bit disgruntled was Achi Donna after paying our bill. :P
Thank you for the beautiful lunch, Wonderful Achi Donna! :))
