Antonio's, A Sixth Time ♥ ♥ ♥

DSC03407

Who gets tired of this beauty?

Not the girl who loves to eat!

Even though I've been to Antonio's one, two, three, four, five times already (plus a couple of times that were secret so no photos, lol!), I was not going to say no when Monica requested to make a trip to the Tagaytay restaurant on one of her visits home.

The staff was still setting up. Obviously we were too excited.

DSC03413

We chose this lovely area for our very early lunch

Auntie Baby and Richard each had an order of Grilled Black Tiger Prawns with Sweet Paprika
and Vegetable Rice Pilaf

DSC03435

Monica enjoyed her Duck Leg Confit, Orange-Grand Marnier Beurre Blanc with Gratin Potato
and Pigeon Peas

DSC03442

I don't think Auntie Judy was too happy with her Beef Placha topped with Seared Foie Gras,
Gratin Potato with Port Wine Sauce. But she finished everything.

I wanted all so I had Antonio's Trio:
Grilled Beef Fillet Gratinated with Cepes-Morel, Black Truffle, Mashed Potato,
Beef Fillet Plancha topped with (not so beautifully) Seared Foie Gras, Gratin Potato with
Port Wine Sauce, and Honey Glazed Lamb Loin Gratinated with Goat Cheese

DSC03453

Not so beautifully seared but tasted wonderful nonetheless!

After six (official) visits, I am still unconvinced about Antonio's desserts.

After this shot we were fast asleep in the car, snoring all the way back to Manila.
It was the perfect ending to a meal at Antonio's.

Kalamunda Farm ♥ ♥

And before heading back to Manila, we lunch!

Our stay at Balay Indang included all meals (see dinner here, see breakfast here), but Frances chose to skip lunch at the bed and breakfast, and brought the whole family to Kalamunda Farm.

I am glad she did!

DSC00900

Kalamunda means "home in the country"

DSC00901

And Kalamunda Farm in Tagaytay is the home of Sylvia and Carlos Miguel

DSC00909

Tita Sylvia and her daughter Crissy who came up that weekend to lend her mom a hand

DSC00903

Because our group of 30 hungry fatties was too much to handle! :P

DSC00905

Check out our lunch view! *whistles*

DSC00930

The garden went on forever and ever

DSC00937

And what guess else I saw

DSC00939

Lamb chops! Ooops, I mean sheep!

DSC00947

Uncle Frank befriending our lunch. Lol! :P

DSC00929

The landscaping was beautiful. Tita Sylvia proudly announced that her husband designed
everything himself. And she, on the other hand, is queen of the kitchen.

Here's what she single-handedly prepared for us:

Duck and Chicken Liver Pate with Crostini

DSC00914

That's port wine jelly on top! Tita Sylvia's famous pate makes for a very nice Christmas present.
To order her holiday goodies (she has ham, turkey, cakes, dessert bars, etc), check out her
facbeook page here.

And then the real eating began!

As always, Benjie brought the wine. Casas Patronales is just one of the many names he carries.

DSC01012

We ran out and got others from the wine shop

DSC01010

Our lunch also came with a soda buffet

DSC01009

It was very windy and we had to protect our salad greens from flying away. Hahaha! :D

DSC01014

Frances had a special guest ;)

DSC01016

Christmas Tree!!!

DSC01018

Nice to hang out here after the meal

DSC01026

Dessert was Tita Sylvia's giant pavlova topped with fruits in season

DSC01035

Italian Coffee Affogato and French Salted Caramel ice cream

DSC01029

It was a very, very happy birthday for Frances

DSC01041

Because she spent it with the Fatterside and her special guest :D

Balay Indang Breakfast ♥ ♥

After a fun night of food, wine, junk food, music, Chinese music, and some unrequested opera number from one of the aunties to celebrate Frances' birthday, we all retired to our rooms.

Surprisingly, everyone was up and about very early the next morning.

Like 8am. This NEVER happens in Manila! Lol!

DSC00742

Not surprisingly, I was the first one to show up for breakfast

Puffy morning faces and hair (Hello, Auntie Babie!) Hahahaha!

Like dinner at Balay Indang (see post here), breakfast was very simple, but hit the spot.

I like spending quality time with myself, to dream, to contemplate, to reflect

I reflect on my past and present blessings with joy

DSC00897

In this time and age, real things are very hard to come by

DSC00898

Real people, real friends, real love that lasts a lifetime. And my heart bursts with gratefulness
because I am abundantly blessed.
