After clearing up my wallet before the Chinese New Year (yes, I clean up not just my room, but also my wallet. Meet Jin, the OC Queen!), I notice a pile of HSBC credit card receipts quickly turning into blank thermal paper. I panic. OMG, what to do, WHAT TO DO???
In all our Sundays at Powerplant Mall, CPK is probably the only restaurant we haven’t tried. But with the current promo tie-up with HSBC and my fear of the receipts turning into useless white paper, I guess there is finally a first.
P1.500-P2,999 receipt gets you a FREE Herb Onion Focaccia with Checca
Bread is pillowy soft. For a nice kick, add some hot sauce to the tomatoes.
P3,000-P4,999 receipt gets you a FREE personal serving of Garlic Cream Fettuccine
with Chicken. Chicken is dry, tastes like cardboard cubes. (Sorry, CPK, just telling the truth)
P5,000 and up receipt gets you a FREE Adobo Chicken Pizza which doesn’t taste like adobo chicken. Actually, it’s so devoid of flavor it doesn’t taste like anything at all.
I order a Chicken Waldorf Salad (NOT FREE) because I am still hungry after the HSBC freebies. Field greens are out of stock so they replace it with Romaine lettuce.
Grapes, apples, candied walnuts, celery and Gorgonzola tossed with Dijon balsamic vinaigrette. Strong, colorful flavors. I wish this was served with arugula.
