I am starving to death when we arrive at Society Lounge. Whenever I am in this kind of unfortunate condition, everything tastes extra good.
I am thankful for the bread basket and butterballs in this time of great hunger. Under normal conditions, however, I won’t even bother. The breads are too dry and too stale, they should be made into croutons or be fed to birds.
Shiitake Mushroom Cream – The good news is, they use fresh shiitake. Although somewhat lacking in flavor, my stomach welcomes the warm soup with open arms. And perhaps some more mushrooms and a few drops of truffle oil, too.
Fried Scallops Provencal and Parmesan, Cognac Sauce and Crouton – And aren’t these the tiniest scallops you have ever seen. The taste does not do much for them either. All I taste is butter. Not good.
Australian Lamb Chop with Herbs, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli and Carrot – Now this is a lifesaver. The lamb is cooked right, tender and tasty.
Grilled Beef Filet Special Cafe de Paris, Gratin Dauphinois, Cauliflower, Tomato – They overcook the beef. Medium rare becomes medium well. Love the gratin, but the Cafe de Paris needs more punch.
Symphony of Dessert (Warm Chocolate Caramel Tart, Apple Galette, Ginger Creme Brulee, Red Fruit Express and Caramelized Popcorn, Lovela Strawberry, and Profiterole) – 6 different desserts and none does it for me.

I love the warm interiors though. Maybe I will come back for drinks.
