Big Daddy’s Chicken ♥ ♥ ♥

I miss Taiwan.

Taiwan is a big part of me. I was born there, spent my elementary years there, landed my first job there, got my first experience living alone there, had my first taste of freedom and independence (oh, I miss you so!)  It is also the place where I reached my heaviest ever weight. One hundred forty pounds.

Yeah right, whatever.

One hundred forty pounds plus another forty.

One hundred eighty pounds. Gasp!!!

Stop judging me.

It was all the chicken’s fault.

Taiwan’s ever famous fried chicken chop that is so crispy, so tasty, so tender and juicy it’s irresistibly addicting!

I was hooked.

And I still am.

Big Daddy’s uses high quality skinless chicken breast, fries it until a beautiful golden color and then dusts it with these wonderful Taiwanese secret spices of which my favorite is the original plus a light dusting of chili. Also very good are their plum, nori (seaweed), and lemon spices.

There is a little bit of bones in every chicken chop, but this is only to preserve the authentic taste of the chicken and to keep the meat juicy during the frying process.  What you get is crispy-on-the-outside-tender-and-juicy-on-the-inside chicken goodness that I guarantee you will never get enough of.

And for those who cannot survive without carbs,

I miss Taiwan… NOT!

Not anymore!

Because Taiwan’s ever famous chicken chop that is so crispy, so tasty, so tender and juicy is finally available here in Manila.

IMG_0805Looks like I am not the only happy one (I don’t know him, promise!)

Dreamy gazes and excited smiles are really no surprise, because these people know that at Big Daddy’s, every bite is truly a delight.
