Pinkberry ♥ ♥



Too many choices baffles me.


Imagine, I can only pick two flavors out of the six:
Original, Green Tea, Watermelon, Mango, Pomegranate and Chocolate
Ayayay. Decisions, decisions…


I know one has to be chocolate. So happy they let us try all the rest.


And then another life-changing decision… 4 toppings to sprinkle on my frozen yogurt


6 major decisions today.

A total of 7 including kobe beef for dinner.



watermelon + chocolate + dark choco crisps + shaved milk choco +
honey almond granola + fresh strawberry


chocolate + green tea + mochi + honey almond granola +
toasted almonds + fresh strawberry
The green tea could seriously use more green tea flavor,
but I love how the chocolate is all rich and sexy.


Next time I’ll get chocolate + chocolate + dark choco crisps + brownie bites + milk chocolate crunch + swirly whip.

Ganso-Shabuway ♥ ♥



There are many things in life I can do as good as any man.

Loading up on beef is one such thing.


Today I prove to you I can eat as much as Bong


I show you by doing it shabu shabu style.
My weapons: spicy miso broth, ponzu sauce, sesame sauce, garlic, carrots, green onions


Bong has vegetables, I have vegetables


Bong has udon, I have udon.


Bong has Kobe beef, I have Kobe beef.


I must say that although the quality of Kobe is not the best out there (softer than Meyer but does not melt in my mouth), dipping it in the sauces makes it delicious for me.


First, I baptize the beef in sweet, tangy ponzu sauce


Then I bathe it in rich and creamy sesame sauce



Thank you Jer and Trinna for the tip!


And then there are the other things in life I do better AND faster than men.


Like cleaning up my half of the pot when Bong is just halfway through his.


And running to Pinkberry for dessert after the meal.

Casa Marcos ♥



I haven’t seen Mom and Dad so excited in such a long time. They are blabbering about the meals they had at Casa Marcos along Roxas Boulevard in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. I can feel the energy as they describe animatedly the jumbo pandesal, the plump almejas, the juicy steak ala pobre, the tasty paella… 

The hullabaloo is contagious.



The complimentary “jumbo” pandesal arrives in 1/3 of its original size.
I have to say though I like this mini version more, fits perfectly when I stuff the whole thing into my mouth. Soft and hot with a very thin layer of crisp. I can eat a whole basket of this.


Adobo Flakes with Kesong Puti Pandesal – I don’t just dip. I soak it in the gravy.
The saucier, the messier, the better. 


Almejas – very tasty stuff, except there is more garlic and cheese than the
skinny, skinny clam meat


Kalderetang Usa – Mom and Dad don’t eat beef so we skip steak ala pobre and order this.
Very tough, very chewy. A challenge even to my big, strong, muscular jaw.


Paella Valenciana – so wet, so bland


Next time I’ll order pandesal only.

As usual, we end our meal with Bar Dolci gelato
