Although I’ve declared Benjarong as my # 1 favorite Thai restaurant in Manila, People’s Palace will always come a close second.
I’ve been eating at the Colin McKay restaurant for as long as I can remember, frequenting the place when it was still in the old Malate location and until now when it has become a Greenbelt 3 resident.
My favorites remain the same.
These are the dishes I always order, whether I am eating with just one person, or with a group of six, or by myself.
Prawn, pomelo, coconut salad
Thom kha gai – chicken, coconut, galangal soup
Crispy lapu-lapu fillets with red curry and basil
Mussaman curry of lamb, potatoes, peanuts, shallots
Phad thai – rice noodles stir fry, prawn, chicken, tofu, bean sprouts
Pavlova – mango, passion fruit
People’s Palace chocolate cake, vanilla seed ice cream
And if it’s PMS week, I order the fried bananas with coconut ice cream, and the sticky rice with mangoes, too!
Thai iced green tea. I love sweet and milky drinks!
