Paradise Dynasty ♥ ♥

I see the poster everywhere. Along the walkway to the MRT station, and  all over the place in ION Orchard.

That bamboo steamer filled with dumplings the colors of the rainbow.

Oh how I love rainbows. And chasing them.

I must get my hands on the colorful babies.

IMG_1237I swear I can hear the GONNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG as I walk through the hallway

IMG_1203The interiors are tastefully done. Very Shanghai, I would say.

IMG_1227Even tea is poured in a very tasteful manner, from a kettle with a meter-long spout

Sherelle and I each have a steamer of the colored xiao long babies.

IMG_1211But first, we are given a dumpling-eating instruction manual to ensure we get the optimum taste of the technicolor pouches. No, you can’t just eat them according to your favorite colors. You have to follow rules here. And the rule is to eat the dumplings in this sequence: Original, Ginseng, Foie Gras, Black Truffle, Cheesy, Crab Roe, Garlic, Szechuan

This is fun!!! Although I still like my xiao long bao classic the way Ding Tai Fung makes them, I have to say this is truly an imaginative creation that I believe people should try at least once in their xiao long bao-eating lives. I like the foie gras, black truffle, crab roe and Szechuan dumplings, but seriously dislike the cheesy one.

IMG_1207FYI

We order two more dishes to fill us up.

IMG_1219Sautéed beef with assorted mushrooms in Szechuan bean sauce – tasty

IMG_1213Sautéed French bean with minced pork – love it
