Market Cafe at Hyatt Hotel and Casino Ӫ

DSC06068

Market Cafe used to be very good when it started operations years ago. I remember their Chinese roasts were one of the best in the city.

Not sure what happened through the years, but my experience a few nights ago left too much to be desired.

I got these for myself and did not share. Ha ha!

Yes, I took ALL the arugula from the salad spread and topped it with parma ham, salami, corn,
parmesan, gorgonzola, olives, walnuts, cashews, and drizzled it with oil and vinegar

DSC06095

Grace tried to replicate my salad but declared that hers was better because it had macaron. Lol!
I agree! :)

Salmon sashimi. The frozen kind. Ew.
And some pickled cucumber unagi salad.

Mango, chili mango, guyabano and guava. I had lychee but secretly coveted Wilhelm's guava.

Detox in a Bottle by Nadine Tengco

I hate to admit it, but yes, I needed this.

So earlier this year I said yes to myself and yes to a 3-day detox program by Nadine Tengco.

At 33 ½,  I was still a virgin to these healthy living, detox cleansing program blahblahblahs.
I was a slob/blob/hog. (Still am and will always be.) But now I can proudly say, "Oh, detox? Been there, done that. Pfffftttt."

Lol.

Kidding aside, it's good AND essential to reset our bodies every once in a while after abusing them with too much chocolates, fried food, processed food, cakes, cupcakes, whipped cream, marshmallows, beef fat, foie gras… you know, all the wonderful things in the world.

Every once in a while, bottles of Nadine Tengco are good for us. No matter how much we dread them.

To maintain freshness, they deliver everything you need for a day right to your doorstep the night before. All you have to do is stick them in the fridge and pray for strength to face the morning.

The bottles come in a nice insulated bag

 IMG 4155
With very clear instructions and optionals

Everything is freshly pressed and blended - juices and soups made with lemongrass, ginger, cilantro, basil, parsley, tarragon, spinach, wheatgrass, banana, pineapple, papaya, lemon, cinnamon, turmeric, cloves, cayenne, stevia, pumpkin, bell pepper… WHEW!!! I feel clean and green already after typing all that out!

IMG 4143
Yes, this was all I could eat (sans bottles and caps) on Day 1

IMG 4151
8:00am - "Energy Blast"

IMG 4158
10:00am - "Chili Lemonade" with ground flax

Image
12:00pm - Non-Dairy Cream of Pumpkin Soup with chewable papaya enzymes tablet.
It was Roasted Bell Pepper Soup on Day 2, and Cream of Carrot Soup on Day 3.

IMG 4160
2:00pm - "Kidney Cleanse"

IMG 4163
4:00pm - "Liver Detox"

6:00pm - "Gingerade"

8:00pm - "Salad in a Bottle"

You can go about your daily activities while on the program. They even suggest brisk walking, yoga or swimming to help the body pass things along.

I am not gonna lie. I did none of the above on Day 1. My only activity was walking to the toilet and back because I had to pee several times during the day. I felt weak and had a terrible headache, which I was told was a normal reaction as the body experiences temporarily increased levels of toxins due to elimination and cleansing. My fault. I abused my body too much and it was payback time. Ouch.
I was also very, very hungry. And irritable. And grouchy.

Day 2 was a bit better.

Nikki of Detox in a Bottle gave me the go signal to attack a few pieces of crackers. Of course I went beyond a few pieces. Hee hee.

Nikki was really nice, checking in on me every once in a while, making sure I had not gone mad and been rushed to a mental institution.

Day 3 was better (still with the help of crackers.)

I had my Chili Lemonade while getting a foot spa

I was too excited to reward myself for the job well done that I hit the dinner buffet the minute I finished my last bottle. Ops!

I am but human.

3 Inch Sin ♥ ♥ ♥

When the 3 Fayes returned from their Maldives-Singapore trip, they came by the house to surprise me with this box of goodies fresh off the plane.

DSC02829

My 1:00am snack in that box!

DSC02855

As always, Frannie attached a personalized note. Her handwriting transported me back
to grade school days. :P

DSC02830

Inside the box were six pieces of 3-inch sins: powder sugar-dusted lava cakes filled with
different flavors of ooze

DSC02836

Bailey's

DSC02845

Peanut Butter. Check out the crunchy peanut bits!

DSC02841

And my favorite, the Original, because it had the greatest amount of that rich, decadent
chocooze (choco + ooze, lol!)

DSC02851

I nuked it for a few seconds and topped it with vanilla ice cream for that erotic
and sensual cold on hot experience. After all, when I indulge, I indulge like
tonight is the last night of the world.

I hungrily and wantonly played with, teased, licked and swallowed 9 whole inches of sin with all its thick, warm, gooey juices at this ungodly hour.

What can I say, I am a sinful, lustful, immoral, shameless, unholy, evil woman.

And guess what I'm having for breakfast the next morning.

DSC02857

Another 9 inches of sin: Hazelnut, lemon, and bitter orange

I love to be pleasured in the middle of the night and at the very crack of dawn.

Watch and weep, girls, watch and weep.

Cooking Class with Pia Lim-Castillo

DSC01091

I think this is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a Saturday afternoon - in cooking class
with Pia-Lim Castillo

DSC01093

Pia's first class this 2013 is called "Appetizer Meals from Around the World"
We learned to make a total of 8 yummy dishes in about 4 hours. Whew!

The class was basically a cooking demo but we were also given opportunities to do some hands-on work.

This was Pia in action:

Class Picture!

It was a fun afternoon learning and eating different appetizers from around the world (thank you, Auntie Babyruth!), except I also left smelling like I traveled all around the world.

When I bumped into cutie little S in the mall later that day, he stayed as far away from me as possible. Lol!
