I'm sure you already know how much I love Mabuhay Palace. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants delicious out-of-the-box Chinese food in a tasteful and elegant setting.
We occupied the same private room where we celebrated Dad's birthday last year. See post here.
This is the cousins table.
We exiled the oldies to the other end of the room. Hee hee hee.
I have to say the service at Mabuhay Palace is excellent. The staff knows we are cake whores
and prepared already the plates and forks we need for our Operation Cake Rape later. :P
While waiting for the food, we munched on these delicious crispy wonton chips drizzled with honey
Suckling Pig Combination Platter - Suckling Pig Maki (I couldn't stop at one!), Marinated Jellyfish,
Roasted Barbecue Pork, Century Egg, Japanese Ginger
Suahe in Shaoxing Wine
Homemade Spinach Tofu with Assorted Mushrooms
Steamed Chilean Sea Bass in Celery Sauce
Slow Cooked Pork Belly Simmered in Shaoxing Wine
Mabuhay Palace Seafood Lotus Rice
Minced Duck in Lettuce Cups
I love that the duck is chopped into big chunks. Every bite is an exciting mix of soft, crunchy and tasty!
Birthday cakes (clockwise from top left): Manila Hotel Chocolate Cake, Camille Ocampo's
San Marcos Cake, my cousin Nikko's Custard Cake, Costa Brava Chicken Mushroom Pies,
Estrel's Caramel Cake, Costa Brava GIANT UBE CAKE, Pacita Pandan Cake
While some of us are cake whores, the others are camera whores.
This 10 to 15-minute practice is what I have to patiently deal with every dinner, every party,
before I can finally molest the cakes. Hurry up, will ya??? :P
Happy Birthday, Auntie Kiddie! :)
Being the most demure of all, Auntie Kiddie has a hard time blowing all her candles. Gwama and
little Samara come to the rescue. I don't know what Achi Donna is so happy about, but...
I JUST WANT TO EAT MY CAKE!!!!!
