Urameshi-ya ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Even though my cousin Rach is the skinniest member of the big Perez clan, and despite the fact that no matter how much she eats, she will forever be one-third of my size, I still trust her taste in food. When she tells me we are having super delicious Japanese beef yakiniku and the best tofu salad for dinner tonight, I know we will be having super delicious Japanese beef yakiniku and the best tofu salad for dinner tonight.

IMG_2523Tofu Salad – soft and jiggly tofu cubes on a bed of fresh romaine and cherry tomatoes, drizzled with creamy sesame-vinegar dressing that I can’t seem to get enough of. You are right, Rach. It is the best.

IMG_2522Grilled Mackerel – the strong and bold flavors of the mackerel mixed with the smokiness from the grill and a spray of fresh lemon make this dish a favorite.

IMG_2527Tokujyou Karubi – perfectly marbled, buttery, melt in your mouth quality, this super prime short rib is hands down the star of the night.

I love you, grilled mackerel. I love you so very much, tofu salad. And you, tokujyou karubi, I love you the best!

Okay, okay...

I love you, too, Rach and Lee, for taking us to this awesome place. I love you, Danny and Jill, for driving all the way south to bring us home. I love you, Kristie and Chris, for treating us all to this wonderful dinner. And I love you, Auntie Judy, because… err… err… because all your nephews and nieces just do.
